Application of ion exchange resin
 

   1, How to store it:

 It can not be kept in the air. The temperature of the place where it is stored should be 0-40°C. If the temperature is below zero, add clear saturated salt water into packing bag to immerse resin. The high temperature can dehydrate and degrade the resin. Once the resin has lost its moisture, it should not be added water directly. Soak it with saturated salt water first, and then dilute it and wash the salt away. The resin should be in wet condition during storage.

2, How to handle it:

   Wash the new resin with hot water in several time before stuffed, cation exchange resin uses 70-80°C of water, anion exchange resin is about 50-60°C; At beginning, change the water every 15 minutes, no stirred it, after 4 to 5 times of water change; the change time is 30min every time, the resin should be immersed in 7 to 8 times until the water is not brown any more and with less foam; after washing, you can handle it with acid and alkali. For cation exchange resin:

   

  • Flow the resin with N HCl, the dosage is 2 to 3 times of strong acid cation resin, 3 to 5 times of weak acid resin, 1.5 times of bead every hour;
  • Wash it with water. PH value is about 5, flow the resin with 3 times of resin volume of 5% NaCl solution, the flow rate just like step 1
  • Flow the resin with 1N NaOH, the flow rate just like step 1
  • Wash it until the PH of outlet water is 9
  • Wash it with 1N HCL or H2SO4, change the resin into H type, the dosage is 2 to time of resin volume, the flow rate just like step 1.
  • After acid washing, washing it with deionized water until PH of outlet water is 6. And then it can be used

   For anion exchange resin , after washing, it can be washed in alkali-acid-alkali, the dosage and flow rate, Strong alkali resin is relative to strong acid resin.

3, Regeneration treatment:

   1. Once the resin is put into function, its exchange capacity may get reduced after certain time, the water quality in outlet became worse and worse; these phenomena are caused by pollution of resin; during the extraction of sewage and biochemicals, whose ingredients are very complex, then the resin is easy to be polluted, so the resin bed to be regenerated in different methods according to different condition.
